Keyword Density

What is Keyword Density?

Keyword density is the number of times a keyword appears on a web page divided by the total number of words on the page. So, if a keyword appears twice on a 100-word page, the keyword density is 2%. While there’s no perfect density to aim for, generally speaking, a higher keyword density will help your website rank higher in search results.

However, stuffing your pages with too many keywords can actually hurt your ranking, so it’s important to find a balance. In general, most experts agree that a keyword density of between 1-3% is ideal for helping improve your website’s ranking in search results. Anything above 3% is generally considered to be too high and could result in search engines penalizing your website.
